Brazilian Lemonade + Video
Brazilian Lemonade (also known as Swiss Lemonade) is actually a creamy limeade that is perfectly sweet and slightly tangy. The secret ingredient that makes it creamy will have you pouring glass after glass of this refreshing drink. Perfect for hot summer days, parties, and potlucks!
The first time I tried this Brazilian Lemonade was at a restaurant called Tucanos (Brazilian Grill). I was immediately hooked! It was refreshing, sweet, citrusy, and creamy all in one drink!
The best part was the unlimited refills, but since I don’t make it out to that restaurant more than once a year, I’ve made my own version at home and I can have it any time I want!

The secret ingredient that makes this limeade so delicious is sweetened condensed milk! I could drink that straight from the can as it is, but put it in limeade and it’s a whole new level of delicious! Sweet and tangy, this drink will be gone in a flash!
Brazilian Lemonade
Ingredients
- 6 cups (1.42 l) cold water
- 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
- 4 juicy limes, (thin, smooth skins are juiciest)
- ½ cup (156 g) sweetened condensed milk
- ice
Instructions
- Mix cold water and sugar. Chill until ready to use.
- Wash limes thoroughly. Cut off ends and then cut each lime into eighths.
- Place half the limes and half the water/sugar mixture in a blender. Pulse 5x. Strain into pitcher with a fine mesh sieve. Dump pulp in trash. Repeat with other half of limes and water/sugar mixture.
- Add ice and condensed milk right before serving. Stir and enjoy.

Very good!
Excelente la limonada, me gusto lo fácil de prepararla
We used lemons and it was great. Just squeezed them instead. Yummy and refreshing!!
Wonderful! Glad you liked it!
This drink looks awesome – no matter what it’s called and whether it is truly Brazilian or not!! Although I have definitely seen it at Brazilian restaurants in the USA! 🙂 I tried a very small sip and it was so delicious! However, I am lactose intolerant so I can’t have regular condensed milk. I am trying to replicate it at home but I can’t find the lactose free version anywhere. 🙁 Any suggestions for a milk substitute?
Maybe try a dairy-free vanilla (or coconut) coffee creamer.
Hi, Sherry – I made this drink over the weekend and we used La Lechera brand lactose-free evaporated milk. I have also seen evaporated coconut milk, but it was not available at my local grocery store. Hope you can find something that works for you.
As a brazilian I can asure you that we do not make limeonade like this. We use limes, sugar and water. We do buy this kind in restaurants as the swiss one ☺️
