McCormick Taco Casserole1

Sometimes I get tired of cooking. Especially at the end of the day when the kids are going crazy & my husband’s not quite home from work yet.

It’s those times when the kids are screaming & I am trying to get around the kitchen to cook dinner with one kid hanging onto my leg, that I wish we could just go out to eat.

Then I realize, not everything has to be “from scratch” to be “homemade.” Thanks to McCormick, we had a fabulous homemade dinner the other night using McCormick Taco Seasoning Mix.

Combine that taco mix with some ground beef & a few cans of ingredients like pinto beans, mexi-corn, & tomato sauce. Top it all off with cheese & tortilla chips & we had a super quick & delicious dinner on the table in no time!

I mean, who doesn’t love to eat chips with their dinner? My kids were jumping for joy when they saw that dinner was “jelly beans” & “chippies.” And my kids don’t always eat ground beef, especially taco meat, but they gobbled this one up!

We added sour cream & green onions to ours. Sliced black olives would be delicious too!

I used to love the casserole with the prepackaged spices. It made everything so quick and easy. What happened to it I cannot find it any longer.

    1. They must have discontinued it, unfortunately. This recipe is pretty easy though and uses their Taco Seasoning.

I wish that I could go back to the 70’s/80’s when my Mom would purchase Schilling’s Taco Casserole in the wonderful green box, just add your own ground beef. And the recipes that people keep coming up with are not the same in anyway because it never had beans in it it just had corn, spices, ground beef and tortilla chips and a powdered sour cream mixture you had to make and put on the top of your Taco Casserole!

All their spices are great! But I do like their seasoned salt better than some of the other brands.
I love quick meals for those nights when kids are clingy, so this is a keeper for me! Thanks

    1. Ooh that’s good to know! I haven’t bought seasoned salt in a while, but when I do, I’ll look for the McCormick brand! Thanks Nicole!

  4. If I was to try a new recipe from their blog it would be their grilled chicken Caesar pizza. It looks tasty!!
